I am completley guilty to doing this. I think that most teens are. When listening to music it is annoying when there is background noise and you are trying to listen to your music. Knowing the dangers its causing im sure it will persuade some kids to find different headphones or turn it down. I will try to keep it down next time im in this situation after ive learned what this article has said.

I think this study is very helpful and eye opening. I know that I probably do this alot and dont even realize it. I can tell that at my age now that i have trouble hearing already, which is pretty sad. It scary knowing how just listening to your ipod loudly can damage you for life. I think its weird that its all connected to your hair follicles and them dying out can affect your hearing.

I can say that i do listen to my zune way too loudly, though i do try to turn it down. I know its not good for my ears, but i cant help it. In longer car rides, though, i do listen to my music in headphones instead of earphones. So i am trying to get better, but it is very hard.

I think this study is good. I know I only turn my ipod up loud when i am in the car with my parents and they decide to turn the radio on really loud. Other then that, i usually just keep it on low and really only have one ear phone in my ear at a time so i can still hear other people talking to me. I switch on and off from each ear so i do not have just one ear with the ear phones on. I think it is annoying when people have their ipods on so loud that when i am near them i can hear the exact words of the song they are listening to! just turn it down people.

I know it is bad to listen to my music loudly, but i really enjoy it. I have been trying to limit the time i listen to it with headphones, but it is hard.

This make me think of high school. There were times when I listened to the headphones (big ones that cover your ears) with the volume from the stereo almost all the way up. Probably why I have some diminished hearing. When I work out, I have small headphones (i do not like earbuds, they hurt) and i can hear people around me, but I guess it could be quieter. When in the sauna i turn it down so i can hear people talking so i know if they are talking to me (some people have theirs up so loud, we listen to their music)

I do this all the time, unfortunately. I'll probably have bad hearing down the road but i like my music loud. I know it's bad for teen's ears but some music isn't meant to be played softly. This is a good study though, good to know exactly how much our hearing is going to be damaged down the road.

I think that if its too loud, you're too old. Jk i really dont think that. I like to listen to loud music because first it pumps me up, especially if im working out and running. I like to listen to music when im reading too, it helps me focus, idk how but it does in some weird way. I think its funny when peolpe try to ignore you when theyre listening to music and they pretend they dont hear you. haha but I really didnt think about how it affects our follicles but idk maybe ill tone down on the music from now on cause i dont wanna be one of those old people who are always sayin, what???!!?
